It has been a very long time since this site has been updated. I promise you to update the site like I used to do...
...starting with pics of the YorinFM-show tomorrow. KANE will play on the roof of one of the buildings of the Korenmarkt in Arnhem.
Ofcourse I will also be present next week in the Amsterdam ArenA.

Kane was the main act on Enterrock in Genk (Belgium) last night.
It was the first time we could see Dion live on stage, and he did not dissapoint us. It was a great show again, and the belgium audience (students mostly) enjoyed it.

Last night, I was in Den Haag together with 2 friends to see the gig of "Het Kwartetje" (invitation) with Matto on the Contra-Bass. We had a really good time.. The band played very relaxed and entertaining. Songs from Elvis, Crowded House, De Dijk, The Beatles and many more.
Thanx to Matto and the rest of the band for a great evening !!
I will try to get the pictures bigger on the site soon..
And tonight... it's Kane-time again ;)

03-04-2003 - Old Bass / New Bass

Tonight, Matto will play in "De Paap" in Den Haag with his band "Het Kwartetje". I will try to make some pictures and put them on this site this weekend. Allthough Matto is not a band member anymore, I think we all still are very curious what he is doing these days..
Tomorrow, Kane will be the main-act at Enterrock in Genk, Belgium. I will also try to make some pictures of this first appearance of Dion as bass player.

| On their website, Kane announced a new bass-player. Dion Murdock will be the newest band member. Go to kane.nl for more details.
Dinand told that the ArenA gig "could be" true. And that june 28 "could be" the date, and also that the pre-sale "could be" starting at the end of this month (should be march 29)
Dinand also said "and not to worry...it's not the size...it's how you use it" This tells me that the announcement I made on 24-02 (see beneath) is true, and 26.000 - 30.000 tickets will be for sale..

Depending on the size of the stage, and the sight lines the capacity of the Amsterdam ArenA during the Kane-show will be between 26.000 and 30.000 visitors. This was told to me by a very reliable source.
The organizer of the concert, Mojo, has no comment yet...
Details about ticket sales are still unknown.

|
Today I got some conformation about the gig in Amsterdam on june 28. It's true, they are going to perform in the Amsterdam ArenA !!
But I was wrong, they won't play in the Amphi theater. They will use the whole ArenA. Normally the stage is on the short site, but this time, the stage will be on the long site of the stadium. I have no idea yet how much tickets will be available, but I will inform you about that as soon as possible.. hopefully tomorrow.
(Tomorrow evening 25-2, I am also going to scan / publish 6 pictures I got by mail from a very sweet Kane-fan...)

Nothing is confirmed yet, but Dinand announced yesterdat that "something is going to happen on june 28th at the other side of the Pepsi Stage...
What do we find at that other side ? Hmmm, the Amsterdam Arena with more than 50.000 seats. That's pretty big, even for a band like Kane. But wait.. there's something else in the ArenA. Read all about the next big show of Kane in the

|
Dinand announced a new show tonight. They will play in the Amsterdam ArenA on June 28.
I think it will be just a part of the stadium, like a show of Blof last year, with about 17.000 people. This would be a next step to a full stadium later on..
Kane will also perform in Genk, Belgium on April 4, and in Lemelerveld on April 21. See gigs for details

Long time since I had the time to update the site. I try to update all news when it's hot from now on.
Some "old newz" ;
- The story beneath about the new band members is incorrect. Manuel and Nico are playing as guest musician in the Pepsi Stage for the accoustic gigs.
- Kane is searching for a new gitar- and a bass-player. Auditions are held at this time..
- A new single will be in store march 4th. My best wasn't good enough absolute great song

KANE heeft nieuwe bassist. Zijn naam; Manuel Hugas. Manuel speelde lange tijd bij Candy Dulfer en produceert momenteel ook deels de nieuwe plaat van IVAR. Tevens willen we bekend maken dat ook Mr. Hammond Nico Brandsen permanent deel uit zal gaan maken van het rondreizende circus. Nico is eigenlijk al vanaf het prille begin verbonden geweest met wat we doen. Pinkpop 2000, Parkpop 2000, opnamen ALAYWT en SGYMI, AHOY 2003...hoogste tijd om nu maar eens vaste verkering te gaan krijgen dus. Zoals je hebt kunnen lezen gaan de postzakken nog steeds worden verkend op zoek naar die ene gitarist die dit clubje compleet maakt...

Paul Jan Bakker (gitarist) en Matto Kranenburg (bassist) hebben in goed overleg besloten KANE te verlaten.
De visie van KANE op de toekomstige ontwikkelingen en ambities van de band blijkt helaas niet langer te combineren met de visie van Paul Jan en Matto.
Paul Jan heeft er voor gekozen zich, naast zijn werkzaamheden voor de Haagse gitaarwinkel ‘Guitarman’,
toe te leggen op het schrijven van songs en zal beschikbaar zijn voor nieuwe projecten.
Matto zal zich naast zijn huidige eigen projecten ook gaan bezighouden met nieuwe projecten.
KANE zal zich voor haar uitverkochte optredens in de Pepsi Stage (21 en 22 februari) versterken met gastmuzikanten.

At this moment (12.10) it seems that both accoustic shows are SOLD OUT again !! On ticketservice no tickets are available anymore.
The website of ticketservice has been unreachable for me all morning, so I got my ticket at the post office. At 10.30 tickets for the saturday were already sold out, so the sales are going well again
In a few minutes the tickets for 21 and 22 february will be on sale...

Kane will give two shows next february in the Pepsi Stage in Amsterdam. The 21st and 22nd of february they will play on this new stage nearby the Heineken Music Hall. See "Gigs" for info on ticketprices and sales.
Kane will also perform on TMF-cafe in Belgium, together with Saybia and Krezip. This will happen on december 20.

Probably a lot of you have seen the first episode of "Idols", the new talent show of "Yorin".
Most attention after the show went to Tim, in his role as Sid Vicious singing "My Way". His fansite (click on the banner) has already been visited 50.000 times within a week, and on the idols website you can already vote for Tim to stay in the show.
